Hmm, a tough review to write.
There are a lot of good points in the book, the relationship is rather good & believable the h/h don't fall in love after 5 minutes), I could sympathize with the characters, I love hero's mother, and the hero himself (although he didn't have that much trouble with leaving his old life behind, but hey, this is fiction), and there were a few LOL scenes. The book just sucked me in, but there were some slightly irritating parts.
I could understand Rachel's fears and insecurities, and the reasons behind them, but her reactions still rubbed me the wrong way. On the other hand Devin is pretty perfect, for a washed up rock-star with weird taste in clothes. The focus could have been more on Rachel&Devin, not on their relationsip with Mark. And the way that both of them jumped to conclusions got old after the third time.
All in all, for the whole emotion-wrangling experience:
3.5 stars.
