Cara's life has been turned upside down in the last day or so. One day she was blissfully unaware that the paranormal beings existed, and now she's living with one of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse, she's bonded to a hellound, and yeah surrounded by demons. Let's not forget that if she dies the world as we know it comes to an end. And since she's the bearer of Ares' seal she's slowly dying.

Ares needs to keep Cara alive. He has no desire to become War and start destroying the world. He knows that caring for her can't be good, but he can't resist her. All those feeling that he thought are buried are coming back to haunt him.

I liked Ares, haunted as he is by his past. That makes it hard for him to trust anyone other than family, and even that is not safe - after all his brother went crazy and is doing his best to bring his siblings down with him. And yet he is gentle to Cara.

Hal the Hellhound is great and I liked Battle. Oh yeah, and the way that Ares accepted the hellhound even though he had reasons to hate him was nice.

For some reason I had a hard time starting this book. Several times I'd read the first few chapters and then give up on it and start reading another book.

I liked Limos and Thanatos and I can't wait for their stories - I knew I shouldn't have read the teaser at the end of the book.
