I wanted to like this, I really did. After reading Butterfly Swords which I really liked, I looked for books with the similar setting.

But unfortunately, this is book is not nearly as good. I know this is just a short story but still, everything seems rushed, the h/h declaring love after a couple hours of knowing each other, the rather neat ending where all of their troubles disappear (if only everything was like that in RL).

There are good points with the book, I love the whole forbidden love aspect, and the hero is yummy. The book is a nice change after all the regencies I tend to read, but a few more details about the rather fascinating history of Japan, wouldn't have hurt.
