Amazing book! :DWe follow Ty and Zane from Ty's parents in West Virginia
to Zane's parents' ranch in Texas
There are so many great moments in the book, that I couldn't possibly put them all in the review, but here's a few. First, some funnies:
“Oh God,” Ty groaned. He lowered his head, files forgotten. Alston squeezed his shoulder, mockingly comforting him.
“We wouldn’t need your help normally, but this morning I cut your daddy’s finger off, and he says he can’t hold a hammer.”
Ty’s head shot up. “You what?”
“Cut his finger off,” Mara said again, as if she hadn’t realized the news would be shocking.
The others were drifting closer, trying to hear the conversation. Ty sat silent a moment longer, his mouth agape. “On . . . purpose?”
“Well, no, it was an accident.”
“Right, of course.”
And Ty's (completely understandable) fear of big cats! :D
Zane and Annie stepped into the lobby of the big cat preserve, but Ty balked, freezing on the welcome mat. It had a black and orange Bengal tiger face on it.
“It smells like death in here.”
Annie took his arm and smiled. “I’m sure that’s just the bleach they use on their habitats. Come on.”
There are some more, especially those involving Ty and horses, but this image would have to do instead of the quote.
Some sweet:
Having someone to be proud of was an indescribable feeling.
“I love you,” Zane said as he gazed into Ty’s eyes, reveling in the truth behind the words. Every step they took as a couple felt so damn good.
This is the last one, I promise:
“Anything you love that much . . . it’s worth any price.”
Ty stepped back, his eyes shining. “I love you.”
Zane smiled, and then rolled his eyes as Ty practically vibrated in front of him. “Okay, go hang up your kitty pictures and pet your car.”
“Thank you!” Ty said in an excited rush as he bounced away.
Zane watched his lover go, the smile still playing at his lips. He shook his head and laughed. Life with Ty. He was in for one hell of a wild ride.
I love Ty and Zane and their relationship. There is definite progress in that part, both of them admitting that what they have is forever the whole coming out part fits with that.
The only tiny thing that wasn't perfect is the mystery. In the end I was like - who were those guys, wait that one is Zane's cousin, how did I miss that? But it was minor and it didn't bother me at all. So the rating is what it is.
I just finished the book, and I can't wait for the next one to come out. Damn, I love these guys.
